Hide and seek is without a doubt one of the most favourite games you can play with your children. Babies adore playing peek-a-boo with the help of a cloth or towel and feel very pleased to see you again after all that looking. You can introduce this game by encouraging them to find their toy as it helps to teach them about object permanence. These games also come very useful for baby to understand that even though mummy left the room, she will always come back!

According to our theme, we decided to take a lovely garden walk with Jasper the cat this week to help him plant a bean he found (please see book recommendations also in the blog). The children enjoyed using some gardening tools such as toy spades and rakes and even found some snails hiding in the soil. The interactive storytelling session was great fun - everybody loves a bit of pretend play! We sang about Little Bo Peep as she lost her sheep and a few rhymes about finding the parts of our bodies.

At our craft table we played animal footprints in play dough. We read 'I spy with my little eye' by Edward Gibbs and looked at some flip-flap stories. Little Mouse also decided to invite us to her house but she hid away and the children and I had to find her by singing and guessing the colour of her house.

At the end I am happy to say that we have not lost temper, but found some good memories to cherish.

Check out the book/app recommendations on this theme here.
